Crescent Moon is a tabletop roleplaying game written by Ema Acosta and first published by way of Kickstarter in early 2021.
It's a game about playing young teenagers who venture into "The Daydream", a strange dreamscape. And while there, they explore and grow and change and learn, in this sort of "coming of age", feelings-focused game. It's inspired by things like The Legend of Zelda, Over the Garden Wall, and Pan's Labyrinth.
I helped with a round of editing for the ~60 page book for the original run of Crescent Moon. In early 2022, Ema began work on an expansion called "The Exiles", which is a more grim-dark approach where the teenagers (who are a bit older this time) are not exploring the Daydream willingly as much as they've been exiled to "The Below", a hellscape, for being "different".
With The Exiles, I'm acting as the primary editor, as well as doing playtesting, some additional writing, and developing an app to help with online play. Depending on when you're viewing this, the Kickstarter for this one may still be active.
