Blades in the Dark is a tabletop roleplaying game published in 2017. It's set in a fictional, haunted, industrial city called Doskvol (inspired by Victorian London and gothic fiction), and features the players as daring scoundrels.
From September 10th, 2020 through October 10th, 2020, there was a Design Jam put together by some folks on the Blades in the Dark Discord called "Unusual Suspects". The idea was to create something that explored another aspect of the world than what had already been covered. There were 102 total entries, three of which were mine.
The Blackcoat is a character playbook around worshipping a forgotten god or unknowable demon, even going so far as to allow it to possess them. It's meant to fulfill the role of a "Witch", which doesn't exactly exist in the core game.
The Ink Rake is a character playbook - an intrepid reporter who twists the narrative to suit their own needs and desires. This is meant to explore the more "mundane" / corrupt side of the city.
The Family is a team crewbook that puts the players together as closer than simply a crew of scoundrels. Whether they're a crime syndicate, carnival troupe, or blood relations, the idea here is to create a different dynamic and different relationships between the player characters.
Together these three supplements have been downloaded over 1,400 times. Is that a lot? I have literally no idea, but it is pretty cool.
